“ Both our children have Aspergers Syndrome (a form of autism) which makes friendships hard for them. Both children love water and seeing their friends – but find it difficult to cope away from home. Now we have a pool, our friends all come to us - so Mum and Dad have a social life, too!
We were on a pretty tight budget when we built the pool, so we built it ourselves – with LOTS of telephone advice from Polypool. We used the money we saved to put in an E-clear system (as our son has eczema) and to have a telescopic enclosure built. The telescopic enclosure allows us to use the pool for far longer than just the summer months and we can lock it to keep the children out of the pool house when we are not there to supervise.
We would recommend an enclosed pool to anyone – and although “Doing It Ourselves” was hard work, it was well worth being able to afford the E-clear system and the enclosure. ”
