Polypool were proud to support the local Rotary Club recently when one of their customers made their beautiful home available for a major charity function in aid of the Mayor's Charities 2010/11. Their home is an ideal venue for such a prestigious event.
Our customer and his wife worked very hard to make this event successful and all proceeds will go towards 'The Rainbow Centre for conductive education' which is one of the charities during the Mayoral week.
The main artist for the evening was Derek Paravicini who was born prematurely and through oxygen therapy required to save his life, lost his sight and his development was affected too.
At an early age his enormous potential for music and in particular the piano, was recognised and encouraged. He played at the Barbican Halls at the age of 9 and has continued to develop over the years and has even featured on TV. At the age of 30 he is now in demand and thrills audiences in the UK and abroad. We wish him continued success and are so pleased to support him at this event. Derek was supported by Becky Parvin who is currently on a gap year, during which she is working with various talented musicians gaining experience to become a proffessional singer.
