Polypool stands the test of time

One of Polypool’s first outdoor pools was installed 18 years ago and has been much used over the years. Using the original specification and an 1” floor-pack, a hopper style pool measuring 7.3m x 3.7m with a deep end of 1.8m was installed with a vinyl liner and fibreglass roman bay step unit.

An air to water heat-pump was installed to heat the pool but has been used very little over the years as the pool does not need heating from June – September. Although the pool was still in very good condition, the liner was starting to look a little tired so the customer decided to invest in a new liner and we were keen to see how the pool construction had performed over the years.

The liner was taken out at the beginning of July this year and we were delighted to find that the pool structure looked as solid as the day it was installed and there was no sign of detereation on any of the materials and components.

Our Polypool channels are all powder coated galvanised steel and guaranteed for 25 years. No concrete base was laid when it was constructed but the floor-pack had not moved.

A new liner was fitted with underlay along with some new gaskets rather than re-fit the old ones. The pool was then filled from a cold tap and the customer called us to let us know that the water temperature had reached 30o within 4 days with no heating!!! The pool was ready to use within a few days, making a vinyl liner a very practical, affordable choice.

Our customer is very happy with the pool and looking forward to many more years of enjoyment...
