Company History
Chicken shed to 2 factories within 10 years!
Polypool pioneered the design of heat retaining swimming pools 15 years ago when we developed and installed our first pool in Hampshire, which is still going strong today. The pools were first produced in a chicken shed on a local farm with the so called head office being based in a portacabin!
As we were pro-active enough to realise the potential of this energy saving swimming pool concept, the next 5 years were spent on research and developing the product by listening to the valuable feedback from both trade and domestic customers which were rapidly growing in numbers.
The Polypool system works on the theory that the laws of physics states that heat flows from a warm body to a cold. Working on these criteria, Polypool realised that if the flow of heat was stopped it would result in a heat retaining energy efficient swimming pool.
The technology which then developed meant not only could the walls be insulated to greatly reduce heating costs but the actual panels could be used as the structural walls of the pool eliminating the need for block or concrete. It is with this technology that we have revolutionised the pool industry to offer a product that is clean, quick and affordable as well as being energy efficient and kind to the environment.
The design was patented in 1999 and is held exclusively by Mr P Fronda of Polypool who is still one of the driving forces behind the pool system we sell today.
In 2002 Polypool moved its production and offices to Lakeview and have since acquired an additional manufacturing facility where our own pool panels are mass produced using state of the art, specially designed panel press machines enabling us to produce an endless number of swimming pools.
Many pool installers who have the same pro-active approach to see the potential in our system have chosen to adopt it as their preferred system because of the heat retaining properties and speed of installation.
Polypool is the leader in swimming pool insulation and the only company to develop a heat retaining insulated pool system, which we hold the patent on and our technology has now been endorsed by the fact that the government are bringing in new additions to Part L of the building regulations in October 2010 to incorporate insulation into indoor swimming pools.
